Oaxaca is Mexican state located in the Southern part of the country. Oaxaca is bordered by Guerrero, Puebla, Veracruz, Chiapas and the Pacific Ocean. If you are a geography buff, Oaxaca’s coordinates are: 16 Degrees 53′53″ N 96 Degrees 24′51″W. If you are not a geography buff, such as myself, take a look on the map – click here!

What’s the land like?

Located in between the Sierra Madre Oriental and the Sierra Madre del Sur, Oaxaca has a rough and mountainous terrain as well as a central valley. On February 12, 2008, Oaxaca had a 6.5 magnitude earthquake!! Located above three, yes THREE tectonic plates, Mexico is one of the most seismologically active regions in the ENTIRE WORLD! What’s the weather like?
